Welcome to University of Louisiana’s biggest and best fraternity. Congratulations to our 19 new pledges. For the third year in a row, Kappa Sigma has had the largest pledge class at University of Louisiana. With pledgeship underway there will be a lot going on at Epsilon-Chi.
The Epsilon Chi Chapter of Kappa Sigma Fraternity was founded on the University of Louisiana at Lafayette campus on March 17, 1956. Kappa Sigma was originally founded in Bologna, Italy, in 1400. The first chapter in America was established on December 10, 1869 in Charlottesville, Virginia. Over two hundred thousand brothers make up the 210 chapters of today’s Kappa Sigma. UL at Lafayette’s chapter was refounded, with the help of its supportive alumni on August 29, 1998.
The fraternity recently celebrated its 50th anniversary on UL at Lafayette’s campus. We celebrated the event during our annual “Green Week” by doing things just a little bigger than the years before. Here at UL at Lafayette, we are currently the largest fraternity. This past year we added 29 new members to chapter.
